The technique of ancestral pottery, also known today as Mayólica by Designation of Origin, prevails in the hands of the Mexican artisan workshops that learn and produce it since the sixteenth century. In the state of Guanajuato, always an important producer of ceramics, the priest Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla encouraged the production of pottery in the population that today bears his name.
The pieces, made entirely by hand and with a limited color palette, have a refined technique of molding, preparation of dyes, composition and decorative style of unique designs in enamel and glazing at 1080°C.
